Aftermarket Headunit Installation Adapters (for Stereo Replacement in pre-2013 Toyota vehicles)

The following adapters and the AXXESS ASWC-1 (if the vehicle has steering wheel buttons) will be used to install an aftermarket headunit in your Toyota:
- 20-pin Steering Wheel Control Adapter: Retains the Steering Wheel Controls, and the Auxiliary input. Connects directly to the AXXESS ASWC-1 (Not needed for ATOTO headunits - See direct wire adapter)
- Metra 70-1761 or AHH-70-1761 Pioneer Direct Wire Harness or AHH-70-1761SO Sony Direct Wire Harness or AHH-70-1761ATOTO ATOTO Headunit Direct Wire Harness: Connects +12V, Ground, and Speakers
- AXXESS ASWC-1: Interfaces with the OEM steering wheel controls (if applicable). Connects directly to the Backup Camera/Steering Wheel Control Adapter. This is not needed if you don't have steering wheel controls. (Not needed for ATOTO headunits - See direct wire adapter)

Installing a Pioneer/Sony/Kenwood/Alpine or other aftermarket headunit in your vehicle? This harness maintains many of the features of your stock unit.
The backup camera is not connected with this adapter. Please contact us if you have a backup camera and need an adapter for this. (Most vehicles that have the 20-pin connector do not have a backup camera).
The harness connects in the place of the 20-pin connector. It will also provide the following signals to your new headunit:
-Auxiliary inputs(connected to the new unit via RCA connector. ***Analog audio input only. USB is also available below***)
-Steering wheel controls (provided to the new unit via 3.5mm connector pictured here. The AXXESS ASWC-1 UNIVERSAL INTERFACE is required to maintain steering wheel controls. See more information below***
-Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal.(only if your vehicle has this signal on the 20-pin connector)

The harness is 100% plug and play.if purchased with a direct wire adapter. This adapter ships with the 6-pin interface connector for the Direct Wire Adapter if it is ordered in the same order as the direct wire adapter.

Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter:
The AXXESS ASWC-1 connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to select aftermarket car stereos.

Installation:
Install the harness
-Verify that the vehicle is off.
-Carefully remove the plastic cover around the head unit and unscrew/unbolt as appropriate. Disconnect and remove the stock headunit.
-Connect the 20-pin connectors on the AutoHarnessHouse.com harness to the corresponding connectors on the vehicle's wiring harness.
-If you are not using the Direct Wire Adapter for Pioneer/Sony/ATOTO, cut off the 6-pin interface connector.
-Connect the red and white RCA connectors to the auxiliary audio input connector on the headunit
-Connect the 3.5mm plug to the "Remote wired input" plug on the back of the unit.
-Connect the red wire to the same switched 12V source that your headunit is connected to. This wire is a power wire for the AXXESS ASWC-1 UNIVERSAL INTERFACE.
Configure the steering wheel controls
-This installation will require the AXXESS ASWC-1 UNIVERSAL INTERFACE to properly maintain steering wheel controls. Most vehicles should be automatically recognized by the AXXESS ASWC-1. If the unit does not automatically recognize the car, reprogram the ASWC-1 by pressing the reset button on the ASWC-1 for 3 seconds, release, and then follow the instructions in the ASWC-1 installation guide.
